V. Status Effects
K.O. - When a character reaches 0% of their HP, they are knocked out and are rendered unconscious. If this would occur during a fight, the character would remain unconscious for the rest of the battle or until revived.
Critical - When a character has 25% of their HP left, they enter critical status.
Poison - When poisoned, one takes a small amount of damage every post, continuing until the person reaches 1 HP or five posts have passed, whichever comes first. This effect lasts until one of these two outcomes are achieved, in or out of battle.
Confused - A state where the victim is disoriented. This can lead to the victim healing an enemy, attacking a friend, or even simply standing idly from disorientation.
Pain - disables the use of physical abilities.
Paralyzed - A paralyzed victim's movements are stiff and often the victim has no control over one's own body causing the victim to slump to the ground or contract muscle spasms.
Sleep - A person is put into a sleep state, their next post is skipped unless they were attacked in the meantime. Unless disrupted by external factors, the next attack on the victim hits and wakes them from their sleep.
Berserk - A state where a target is put into a mad rage. They will only attack enemeis, but they will also only use physical attacks using their strongest abilities. While in this state, their physical strength moderately increases.
Blind - A blind person cannot see and thus cannot fight back effectively. Vision, for the most part, is blotted out and narrowed causing distortion and confusion for those affected.
Silence - prohibits the use of words in the victim causing spells to be rendered unusable.
Petrify - A state where either one is turned to stone or is encased in stone. When inflicted magically, one is encased in stone and has the ability to attempt to break free upon being struck by an external force. When inflicted by a creature, one is turned to stone and can be saved either by an item or magic spell.
Venom - when under the venom effect, one takes a small amount of vitality and energy damage every post continuing until the person reaches 1 HP. This status effect doesn't wear off and continues even after the end of a battle.
Zombie - A special status effect where a person is tainted by darkness. After inflicted, healing spells will instead hurt the victim and spells such as Raise will inflict the K.O. status.
Stop - Powerful time magic that halts the progression of time within a certain radius of the caster. It is, for all purposes, a restricted magic but those who grow powerful enough to cast it often throw such laws to the wind.
Slow - Time magic that slows the progression of time for the victim. It seems to them that the entire world has suddenly sped up around them.
Haste - Time magic that speeds the progression of time for the target. It seems to the target as though the entire world around them had suddenly slowed down.
Doom - A special status effect where a person has been touched by Death. Upon the curse being placed the victim is given a time limit shown by a number over the victim's head. Once the number reaches 0 the victim is immediately K.O.'ed.
